Here's a view of the airport from the parking lot, looking SW.
If you've flown at 47N in FS9, you might have seen a big fancy beacon tower... here's what it really looks like. Modest, but it works fine.
Say hello to my little friend: the weathered but very serviceable interior of N75715. The PTT is pretty ugly, but it works: more than I can say for a few other old 'hawks I've rented. That's my portable PTT switch on the right yoke: the one on that side doesn't work- or maybe it doesn't have one; can't recall. CFI didn't have his own...

It's certified for IFR, but note the lack of GPS... no problem; I need to work on my VFR navigation basics anyway.
One really sweet feature is the nav radios: they will show what radial you're on via the numerical display, which is very handy, esp. close to a station when the CDI is flopping around as you try to dial in the OBS. Never seen that before...
Also has DME. With all that, who needs GPS for VFR flight?
And oh yes, the clock works, too. Amazing...
Shge's a nice old plane- powerful and rigged pretty straight. This morning we even came to an understanding about how to keep her trimmed for cruise- I'm already feeling pretty comfortable in this one.
Cosmetically not so great, but who cares?
