Wonderful Spit shots Doug...I don't think anyone could take a bad picture of a Spit. ;)

Used to do a fair amount of "Buzzing the Airfield" on arriving home in my younger days as most of us did.

I matured rather quickly when I lost a jug on the port engine of the Dak on pull up....I didn't know the two of us could move so fast ;DLMAO now.

Oh well we were always one rank to high anyways :)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

number 1 and 3 are your best shots to date. Certainly quality wise. Not a huge fan of the silver scheme on the spit.

[quote]I got this on Friday during John Romain's superb display in the Spit. Starting with a fast run straight up the runway from the south. I was in the wrong place (again) but you can just see the top of the hangar I'm talking about at bottom right.

I'm honoured Kevin. Just goes to show. Not one of my best efforts & I thought twice about posting it. In fact I was very disappointed with all the shots in this thread.

Not sure how to take that. ::) :P

Let me explain. I knew exactly what I was after & was hoping to get some nice aerial shots over the fence like the ones I got with my old camera last year. The quality was the main reason I bought the new one. Unfortunately the wind was in the wrong direction when the Spitfire arrived unexpectedly on Thursday & also when he left on the following Monday. I've always said that this is all down to a matter of luck on the day. Also being in the right place at the right time. ;)

Perhaps not the most technichally perfect photo ever, but it's a great shot with lots to look at and a good effect overall...  ;)
