Wow Jimbo. This is a little goldmine. #4 looks suspiciously like a very rare Fairey Flycatcher. Beautiful. :D

Could be wrong but I don't think there's any around now. Not even on static display.

PS. I was wrong. There's one at Yeovilton. Possibly the same one. http://www.britishaircraft.co.uk/aircraftpage.php?ID=361

Indeed Doug, and it is the very same one. I think John Fairey retired it from flying duties in 1996 or thereabouts.

As for the rest - we discussed this on Friday - wasn't the French built Storch the Morane-Saulnier MS (something) Criquet? Thats in no.1, with Beech 18 behind...

No.2, Candyman was owned by The Fighter Collection for the best part of 20 years before being sold to neighbours the Old Flying Machine Company for use with the Breitling Fighters. Ironically the OFMC had sold their Mustang (G-HAEC) about 2 years before. Even more ironically, TFC bought another P-51 about 2 years later! Behind to the right is a Mk VIII Spit, now based in the US. I'm not entirely sure, but I think it was owned by Adrian Reynard of racing car chassis fame (until Reynard went bust). Judging by the paint being all over green with the white nose, I'd suggest these were taken around 1989-1990, as that's how the Mustangs featured in "Memphis Belle" were painted (see shot 6!)...

No.5 is TFC's Hurricane, now owned by the Historic Aircraft Company. It looks like it was approaching the end of its restoration - its first flight was in 1990 I think...

Nice photo's Jimbo. Any more? ;D

Yep. MS.500 or MS.502 Criquet probably depending on engine. This is possibly the same one still on the display circuit. If so, they repainted it.

What the heck is number three? Looks like a crossing between a Yak-28, a B-57 and a Meteor.
