Well i work in a restaurant in a Golf club...and i "remember" special small things like...a particular person likes mustard with something, and somebody preferes a knife and fork with their sandwhich, and i remember people's names.
Somebody was leaving and i happen to remember small things for them, which they liked because it made them feel in-particular...which happen to make them give me a farewell tip.
I guess people prefere the smalls things in life which make a big impression.
That kept me happy, until it got VERY busy!

I try my best!

LOL

Good man. Methinks you will go far. It helps when you have wealthy customers too. You wouldn't get 20 quid out of me. :o ;D

Not easy to please some of those tony, snooty golf types- believe me; i know- I used to caddy. Ugh...:-/  ("I'm sorry, sir, but if you'd occasionally hit one onto the fairway instead of into the woods, I'd do a better job of finding your balls for you...")
I will stiff a waiter or bartender in a heartbeat if I feel they're not trying, but somebody like you, I'll practically throw money at them, esp. if I plan on coming back. Keep it up, and soon your only beef will be that you're just too damn good to be working that job...
