X-plane put in a showing...

Flight 1 decided to concentrate on the proffesional side of the business offering a simulator based on FS2004 to flight schools. Runs around $6500, I believe...

C & H was there with there products for sale...

But this one beat them all. This is a $150,000 simulator based on 1 meter resolution for the terrain. In some situations, it even went down to 1/2 meter! The 'plane' is a Diamond Katana and when I tried this out, it was the most incredible simulator I had ever sat in. I got a little woozy from jostling around. Incredible! It uses three projectors that overlap each other to give the curved screen the image. I swear, it was almost exactly like flying a real plane...

Of course I pumped the guys at the FS booth for info about FS 2006 and I did get two interesting things from them. They basically told me "You know we can't talk about it" with a grin.
They did admit however, the the backwards compatibility issue was the main killer of CFS3 and it would most certainly NOT (their emphasis, not mine) be an issue with FS2006. When I asked about the possibility of reviving the CFS series, they gave a BIG grin and said 'it is extremely possible." Read what you want to into that...
