Oshkosh #4: The Homebuilds

Postby Wing Nut » Wed Jul 27, 2005 8:00 pm

I spent a LOT of time here checking things out and if I were to post every pic I took, I would fill the entire 1st page of the forum.  That in mind, I tried to pick out 5 to suit everyone's taste.  The only one I am remotely familiar with is the Aircamper...

Great shots in all 4 posts, keep 'em coming.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

OMG, the owner deserves to be slapped for that Storch-ripoff.
This is like modifying a warbird with a turboprop!
Gosh!

The Storch is as far as I can tell a standard fuselage, jacked up U/C, Cub tundra tyres and a Super Cub nose (presumably with the Super Cub engine)...
It kicks botty  8)
I'm still looking for the ID of that first one, bugging me that I can't find it!

I found the details on that Super Storch. Buy the kit here. http://www.storch.com.au/super_storch.htm

PS. Not sure I like the look of that Sonex. Much prefer a Vans RV6 myself.

That Sonex looks like it would fall apart if you touched it...  ;)  I'll take that Air Camper any day.
