Rolls Royce model airshow

A couple of shots from todays Rolls Royce model airshow at Hucknall, Notts.

Nice scale SE5A

Upside down with a nice aerobatic model.

Ducted fan F-15

Hanging on the prop. Great display of power to weight ratio in this Extra replica.

This looks like it could be a Miles Maggie or somthing similar. Nice model all the same.

Jungmeister.

P-38 Lightning.
Image
DH Beaver. This guy flew off the tarmac and dragged the floats. If it had been mine I'd have stuck to the grass, or a small pond I think.

Very nice. My attempts to get some shots of the models at Old Warden last Saturday were a dismal failure.

G-AFSV is registered as a Chilton DW1A. I recently posted a couple of shots of the nice red & silver full-sized DW1 at OW.

Now you come to mention it Hagar pal, the commentator said it was a Chilton. I took loads of pics and these are about the best.

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

*puts F-15 on Christmas list*

Awesome shots there. I wish I had money for something like that..

I was at an airshow this year and they had a 1:4 scale F-18 in Blue Angels scheme. With full working afterburner, I remind you. :o

Note the difference in the engines and I think you've got the difference between the DW1 and the DW1A...

There was the Swordfish in my other post and a Gladiator about the same size as the Jungmeister that started up, made a popping sound and was taken back to the work area for a bit of head scratching. A nice electric Blenheim MkI also but that did not fly. No Spitfires this year.

By the cowl on that "Extra", I'd say it may be a CAP 232 maybe ......?
Image below the SE-5A I believe, is one of Walter Extra's designs.........a 300 possibly ?
