I got what I came for. Lots of lovely Hunters.

My better Hunter shots here if you missed them. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=photos;action=display;num=1119224053 Well worth the 250 mile round trip. Everything else was a bonus.

More vintage jets. The DH Vampire.

Nice display by this very smart Jet Provost.

We were supposed to see the Meteor NF.11 but it's apparently grounded due to the new EU insurance fiasco. About time they got that sorted if you ask me. Ridiculous. ::)
Still, we got the Skyraider to make up for it.

PS. The RNHF Sea Hawk had starter problems & was stuck back at base. Never mind, it was a nice relaxing day in the beautiful sunshine.

Drool...
That Vampire reminds me of my first (little) airshow, at Mt. Snow, Vermont, when I was in my late 20s. There was a BD-5 minijet, a Pitts,  a Mentor, and an SNJ, but what really gave me goosebumps was a single fly-by of a beautiful old Vampire... came whooshing out of the hills, zoomed low over the runway, then slowly disappeared. I could see the pilot in there as it passed, and decided right then and there to pursue flying lessons. My first light- single ride  (in the front seat of a Saratoga that same day) cemented the deal. All it took, after years of building models, etc., was to get a little closer to those beautiful machines, and see that pilots were mere mortals who'd simply applied themselves to learning a skill.
Thanks for knocking that memory out of the old files... ;D
