Shows I gave you completely spurious info the other day Craig (Having said that the little Typhoon on the RAF display dates page was in 17 Sqn colours!)...

Do they put a Roman Numeral after aircraft named after an older one? They do here.

i.e., (P-47) A-10 Thunderbolt II, (F4U) A-7E Corsair II, etc..

No. A proper Typhoon has a more heavily framed canopey with a car door style hatch. :)

Yeah but by then it might as well just be a Tempest. :P

I prefer the retro feel of the car door canopy. ;D

later Typhoons also had a Tempest tail :)
As for the car door type, I'm in the early stages of building one now. ;)
