Flew over a place near RAF Lyneham the other day, and we counted 23 locks on one little stretch of a mile or so...

That lock seems to be quite the novelty. ;D

You always get a crowd of goofers at locks when a boat goes through in case someone makes a right mess of it. Great entertainment. :D

I know that. Even more so when the boat going through is one of those 60 foot buggers that have to go in at an angle to fit. ;D


I've never seen that many crowding round a lock before though. :P

I've never seen that many crowding round a lock before though. :P

It was Saturday afternoon on a nice day in a beautiful tourist area. That explains the crowd. Most canal locks I've seen are way out in the middle of nowhere.
