That lock seems to be quite the novelty.

You always get a crowd of goofers at locks when a boat goes through in case someone makes a right mess of it. Great entertainment.

I know that. Even more so when the boat going through is one of those 60 foot buggers that have to go in at an angle to fit.


I've never seen that many crowding round a lock before though.

It was Saturday afternoon on a nice day in a beautiful tourist area. That explains the crowd. Most canal locks I've seen are way out in the middle of nowhere.
