Autumn Air Show (not more...)

Postby C » Mon Oct 11, 2004 4:26 am

Hello,

Whilst Doug was happily snapping away at Duxford yesterday I was gettin them on the ground ('cos I had to buy tickets to Oz this Christmas so the Canon EOS300D went on the back burner...).

Sea Hawk on the pan...

Very nice Charlie. That new camera seems to be working a treat. I like the close-up of the Spit in particular. ;D

Glad you posted these before my static shots. I have some similar ones that I might post later & don't want to hog the show. I'll wait & see what you & Tempest come up with before I post any more.

PS. I think you can see what I mean about Duxford being the wrong way round for my style of photography. Shoreham is just the same on show days. Generally speaking, shots taken in the static park (your Sea Hawk & Tucano for example) are much clearer than the ones on the flight line as the sun is behind you.

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Oh I see.
They have quite a few vintage jet airliners on static display at Duxford. Not quite sure why as it's part of the Imperial War Museum. http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/ConWebDoc.1188
Unfortunately most of them stand outside in all weathers & deteriorate over time.
