Ford Tri-Moter ride! (EAA part 3)

Hey! this is part three of my pics from my visits to the EAA Airventure Museum! These five pics are taken from in the air on a Ford Tri-Moter! It was loads of fun! And only $25.

Pioneer Train! DC-3 Junkyard!! Sorry that they are so small. I had to reduce them a lot to keep them each under 100kb.

My next batch will be of warbirds.

Try reducing the size of the original to 800 pixels width & experiment with the IrfanView quality setting when you save it. A few % lower will make a big difference to the file size. That's how I usually do it. Most of the shots I post here are less than 50k so I can get more in.

Good advice Craig. I generally crop the height of my own shots to reduce the file size but I don't think it would help in this case.

DC-3 Junkyard!!

So we got to see it after all.

I don't like seeing these lovely old birds being left to rot but it shows there's still plenty around if anyone wants one. I've seen much worse than that restored to airworthy condition.

Generally true. This is when you might need to experiment with the quality setting when saving them. If it's done carefully, reducing the image quality doesn't affect them enough to worry about. It's not as if you're going to print huge poster sized images. I've had some nice comments on the quality of my shots but most of them are under 50k, well below the forum size limit.

And on the DC-3 subject, When I went to see my dad off at the airport(bussiness trip), what did I see but a DC-3. And even more exiting, it was doing touch-and-go's! It was awsome but I'm kicking myself for not bringing my camera.  

*MENTAL NOTE* Always bring camera when going to airport.


Yes $25 is a good price for a 20 minute ride on a Tri-Moter. I will be there taking rides on the various vintage aircraft throughout next summer. Here is a list of the vintage aircraft that give rides:
