Biggin Hill BoB Air Show Part 4

Postby Hagar » Tue Sep 21, 2004 3:18 am

More from this fantastic show. My photos don't do it justice.

Royal Netherlands Air Force F-16. This routine is very impressive - & very noisy. ;)

A little light relief.

It was wonderful to see some veteran airliners. Here's one for Fret. Sadly I didn't catch it in the air. It was almost dark when it took off.
Image

The Air Atlantique DC-6 - still used as a freighter. This was a common sight when I was young.

2 Connies were booked but due to technical problems neither made it. :(

Back to the heavy metal. These guys from Lakenheath dropped by to say Hello.
Image

One of the best shots I took all day, completely unedited apart from resizing. Wish they all came out like this one. The sun finally reappeared near the end of the display. The Belgian Air Force F-16 - also very impressive & noisy. ;)
Image

I rather like this one. Quick shot  from the car park with my Fuji F 401 as I was leaving .

Over and Over again! More awesome shots!!
I love the 3!!! Don't think I have ever seen that paint scheme before and I like it!.
The F16 is a impressive bird! I always thought so when I would see one on TV, but this year was the first time in person and I was blown away by what they really can do!
And that is one nice looking DC6!! Really like the last one!
Thanks again for sharing!!!!!

nice photos again Doug! yesterday evening i found out that it was Cpt. Van Gestel who was flying the jet. it's the only pilot in the KLu who's allowed to fly displays this year. the airshow commentator probably had too much beer.  ;)

Thanks to everyone for your support & putting up with my efforts over the last few months. I've had a wonderful time taking these shots. Hope they give you some small idea of what's going on in my part of the world. ;)

Hagar, you definitely have the BEST aviation shots on the net!

You're most kind Stephen but I have no illusions about my skill with a camera. You should see the ones I missed or messed up. Of literally 1,000s of photos I've taken this year there's less than 10 I'm completely happy with. ::)

What will you do with your weekends when the airshow season is over ;) Top quality stuff again.

Well, Roger, this could be a problem as I need the practice. There must be something else I can take photos of. ::) I can always pop over to Shoreham to keep my hand in & try new ideas. I'm waiting to see how you get on with the new camera.

PS. This is what real photographers can do. Taken at the same show as the ones in this thread. If I live long enough maybe I can do something like this one day.

Maybe 'better' field positioning, but I like the clarity of your photos better.
