A nice Cub for Ozzy

Postby Hagar » Sun Aug 22, 2004 2:51 am

I bumped into an old friend yesterday. He belongs to a syndicate that owns & flies several aircraft including a lovely little Piper Cub. The chaps kindly allowed me to take some shots before they left for a fly-in somewhere in Devon.

The last time I remember being on this side of the airfield is in 1962.

Which airfield is that Doug?

Nice Cub too...

Oops sorry. I forgot to mention it's Shoreham Airport. The old hangar is at the north end, directly opposite the Sussex Pad Hotel. I think the original part (not visible in my shots) was a temporary blister hangar built during WWII. It's still in better condition than the extension in my photos (including the doors) which was added long after my time there.  A very pleasant place to work although it was a tad chilly in the winter. ::)

Naturally. You should know by now that my camera goes everywhere I go - well almost everywhere. ;D

Should have guessed it was Shoreham!
