I was stunned when I came along to this shot..this aircraft just seems to old to be in use for commercial purpose...but maybe it is still giving the airline money....

I can remember flying one Commercially - the Hostess spilt my coffee over the family jewels : probably why I remember it.

At least the National Airlines of New Zealand (now Air New Zealand) paid for the dry-cleaning.     Ah...fond memories...

I know less about Russian airliners than I do about western ones so I checked this out. The Tu-154 first flew on October 4 1968 although it didn't enter regular service with Aeroflot until February 1972. The version in the shot, the Tu-154M, first flew in 1982 & is still in limited production.

The DC-3 is one of those rare classics that will never be replaced. You can't improve on perfection.

The Tu-154 is an interesting looking plane, I like the way the main gear is placed so far apart and how the wing has anhedral instead of dihedral.
