American Bonanza study........

So here I was, ...me and two fairly new Bonanzas on the airpark, and both from the United States. One with extended range tip tanks and one without......here is the long range version, as I saw it........

First a total shot .......


On this rear quarter shot, you can see a small black patch just above wing walk at the trailing edge of the wing.......


This is that same patch......The manufacturer ID plate.....

Rear end, showing the Fin, Rudder, Horizontal Stab, Elevator, and pitch trim tab, along with static discharge bars and rear marker beacon.....


This shot shows, with a fine eye, some turbulator strips on the lead edge, and the pronounced washout towards the tip tank ( reduced wing incidence )

Very nice Ken. This has given me ideas for when I next venture on to the airfield.

PS. For some reason I still prefer the old V-tail Bonanza.

.......Doug, we do have a "Classic" V-tailed Bonanza based  here, but it's always kept inside and it will take some luck to catch it on an arrival or just before a departure..............I'll keep my eyes open for my chance.........

We have one at Shoreham but it's based on t'other side of the airfield. It flies regularly but I have yet to catch it at the pumps or within range of a decent shot. There is also a nice little Aviat Husky that seems a tad shy. Some aircraft seem to do all they can to avoid me. Never mind, I shall persevere.

Aha !.........someone understands what goes on at small airparks, where there is an honour system for paying for your tie-down space overnight........the fee here, is $5 for each space/night.........drop it in the supplied envelope at the fuel hut.........

Here the Bonanza is really popular, especially the V-Tail.
In some of my posts of Island Home and Sky Ranch airports in TN you'll notice allot of them.
I like Hagar prefer the V-tail, something about them, fast and slightly aerobatic . I'll dig through some of my photos and find some to post if anyone is interested.
And out of curiosity is it difficult for you over there to get up close and personal with aircraft at the "small airports"?
That is why I hang out at my local airports they let you walk around and look without asking for a strip search
