Sunday fly-in part 2

More light aircraft from Sunday's fly-in.

A resident Cessna taildragger takes off before things get busy.

Nice Chipmunk off to the parking area. This one is based here.

Some interesting arrivals. A Luscombe 8A.

ARV1 Super 2. Designed & built by ARV Aviation at Sandown, Isle of Wight in the 1980s.

Stampe SV4 taxies in past the emergency vehicles.

Another Stampe arrives. Both are based at nearby Shoreham.

Piper Colt. There's still quite a few of these around. I saw one for the first time at Shoreham in the early 60s.

With all that activity it makes the main airport at Croydon look like a general aviation airfield!  ;)

I can't believe there was a Stampe and a Chippie there. I'm now the same colour as an olive!

Hi Mr. Bones. I've seen quite a few in these colours. There's one just like it at Shoreham. They're probably from the last batch of Chipmunks sold off when the RAF finally retired them only a few years ago. The new owners would be allowed to retain the markings as RAF trainers are now painted black. I've seen ex-RAF SA Bulldogs in the same colours.
