A few more ........

..... of yesterday's shots before I depart for breakfast at the airport. Some of these didn't come out as well as I hoped. Practice makes perfect so I will just have to go back & try again. I shall endeavour to do better today. ;)

Interesting. I did wonder where it came from. Forgot to check on the arrivals/departures screen.

Shows how much I know. It's listed as a Europa. I thought it was a Fournier powered glider. This is the Fournier RF4D. http://www.caa.co.uk/srg/aircraft_register/GImages/g-awel001.jpg

I wouldn't think it's any more difficult to land than your average sailplane.

Wonderful shots Doug :)

The small green aeroplane in the first shot...looks very interesting...the position of the prop and the engine seem  unique...also it would seem the windows at the rear wrap around...am I correct in saying that.  If so that would be unique as well.

All in all that is one different type of aeroplane :) :) :)I have looked at the shot 4 or 5 times now and it really grows on you (or me at least).

Thanks for posting.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Thanks for the encouragement Doug. The green aircraft is a Thruster. Here's a better shot of one I took last year.

I believe it was originally an Australian design. One of the first practical 2-seat microlights.

Thanks Will. That "Gothic pile" is Lancing College chapel. I was once told it's only half the intended size. They ran out of funds & had to settle for what they had. It's beautiful inside & they hold all sorts of concerts & services there.

The chapel is probably the most prominent & familiar landmark for the airport. I've never seen it in any of the M$ sims. If I was a good enough scenery designer I would do it myself.

Thanks Ben. This is my local airport at Shoreham, my second home. Check out some of my other recent topics in this forum.

The fly-in at Abingdon isn't for a couple of weeks yet. You can get even closer to the aircraft at those special events. ;)

Aye, I thought so. Yep, I've seen your other ones in this forum. Your a good photographer! :) ;) The only airport anywhere near me is Inverness airport and you can't get near anything, - not that there is anything to see!

Thanks for the kind words Ben but I'll never make a decent photographer. I've improved a lot since getting my digital camera. I can now take as many shots as I like without worrying about the expense & running out of film. Some are bound to be presentable due to the law of averages. You only get to see the better ones. ;)
