A few more oldies

More from the 2003 RAFA show. Wish I could claim credit for these. Some hopes. ::)

I have permission to post them from Steve Trillwood.

Now the Russians have arrived. Ray Hanna in the OFMC La-9. Remarkable similarity to the Fw 190. Won't be seeing this rare bird again. :'(

The OFMC Kittyhawk. Won't see this again either. I believe both are on their way back to New Zealand.

Ray Hanna's own MH434. Most famous Spitfire in the world.

I was reading where the BBMF Spit (or one of them) has been repainted now in the colors of the last RAF operational sortie by a Spitfire ... (Aeroplane Monthly)

That's correct and very nice it looks in this colour sceme. I think this is the first time, certainly in a very long time, that a BBMF fighter has worn a post war colour sceme.

Hagar, I am sure the LA-9 is coming back again. Ray Hanna has sent it to New Zealand for this years Warbirds event. The P-40, sadly is staying put there however leaving the UK with just one airworth P-40.

I can add that they were a great success at the Wanaka Air Show - which unfortunately is on the other Island here from where I live and about $1000NZ in air fares.      I have to console myself with a "Warbirds over Wanaka" shirt which is now 4 seasons old.

Lovely photos though they get prettier every year.

I am now watching out for the TV Documentary they do every year.
