Eugene Airshow-a few years back

Postby RichieB16 » Mon Apr 05, 2004 3:04 pm

Well, every few years we have a little air show in my home town on Eugene, Oregon.  I was going through some photos I have, and came accross some I took during one the show from a few years back (we were blessed enough to have Canada's Snow Birds come).  So, here are a couple of the pictures I took.

I'm sorry about the poor quality, I had to scan them and resize them to meet (or come close too in one case) the forum rules.

Here are a couple pics of the Snow Birds in the air

During the show, I had wandered off and was taking pictures with my parents camara.  A local newspaper reported noticed me and offered to let me use his really expensive lens to take a few quick pictures (since we had the same camara).  So, here are 2 of the photos that I took using his lense-they came out great.

This is a small stunt plane of some kind (might be an Extra, I'm not sure)-but it's one of my favorite photos from that day:

Finally, here is a picture of the Canadian F/A-18 that came.  It has a special paint job since it was a CAF anniversary of some kind (I can't remember exactly what anniversary).

Anyway, those are a couple of the many photos that I took that year.   ;) ;D

It's always a treat to watch the Snowbirds perform.

I can't remember exactly what anniversary.

It actually wasn't an anniversary.
The CF-18 was the "Millenium Hornet," used for the celebration of the year 2000.

So,.........does someone want some fresh shots of the Snowbirds?..... :o

..........they have arrived in town for their usual two week work-ups for this seasons show, and if the weather holds, I might just be able to get a shot or two of them.....they did their first two practice sessions on Sunday and will be in the air twice a day for the next two weeks over our skies here.......... 8)

........with a quick run out to the deck, this is how I saw them do their first flypast of my roofline.....hopefully, I'l have some better quality shots to post soon......
