Amsterdam EHAM vs. Paramaribo SMJP

CraigL took the lead, I'll follow with two shots of last years' trip to Surinam.

Kind of nice to have actual footage of how an airport conducts its business, I think. Anyway, this is two shots from Amsterdam Airport EHAM versus Surinam's Airport Zanderij SMJP. Quite a difference.

Lot's of groundvehicles, comfortable jetways, the works. This is 'sir Frank Whittle', PH-BUU a 747-300


Actually in the middle of the rainforest, a clearing with one concrete strip, this is Surinams main airport, with flights from KLM, American Airlines and the national carrier, sister of KLM. Here you see PH-BUO, another 747-300, named 'Missouri'.

I go to Surinam very often. My parents are from Surinam.

My wife is of Surinam origin.
Not that this is ontopic, but we went to see her parents, both in Surinam and French Guiana and I fell in love with the place. I'll be back soon!

excellent! Being a citizen of the interesting US state of Missouri, its nice to see a plane with the same name, though that 747 has more hills and bumps than about 99% of this state
