@BlackAce.........You are correct about the aircraft. As far as making the shots "crisp".......
I slice them very thin and bake in the oven at 425 degrees for seven to ten minutes ;)

Seriously though, in my opinion, it's all about lighting and angle.
Some turn out better than others.
