'Banana Jet'

Postby todayshorse » Tue May 22, 2012 5:33 am

Salutations Screenshot aficionados!

Ive been sniffing round the flying stations web site wondering just how good there Buccaneer is...anybody got it yet? Anyhoo, had to use this UKMIL one for a flyabout. Its actualy pretty good.

So, i presente - 'Banana Jet'

Image

Banana Jet flys!

Image

Originally a naval aircraft, the RAF 'reluctantly' ended up with it after the TSR-2 cancellation and the F-111 debacle..

Image

The Tornado eventually replaced the Buccaneer, but in many ways the Buc was superior...

Image

Some of the advanced features included the area-ruling, extra-strong wings and spars and boundary layer control.

Image

The unrivalled low-level stability of the Buccaneer meant that RAF Buccaneer squadrons consistently outperformed other low-level strike aircraft and did particularly well at the annual 'Red Flag' exercises in Nevada.

Me hope you likey ;)

The UKMIL Buccaneer is freeware but some other things in the shots are not - thanks for looking, C+C welcomed 8-)

I always thought a Banana Jet was a Hughes AirWest DC-9.

Excellent set of shots here ! The photorealistic background sure helps a lot, but this is also a very nice plane model. I had the UKMIL plane for a while in my hangar. I loved the exterior model as well as the flight model, but I didn't really like the VC for some reason :/
