Nemeth CH-53

Postby CHUCK79 » Mon Jan 03, 2011 2:00 pm

Nemeth Designs Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion
(Info from Nemeth website)
The development of the CH-53E is based on the CH-53D.
Improvements include the addition of a third engine to give the aircraft the ability to lift the majority of the Fleet Marine Force's equipment, improved main rotor blades and composite tail rotor blades.
A dual digital automatic flight control system and engine anti-ice system give the aircraft an all-weather capability.
The helicopter seats 37 passengers in its normal configuration and has provisions to carry 55 passengers with centerline seats installed.

I got several aircraft for X-mas and I'm finally getting around to trying this one out. Well, I tried to fly it when I first got it but, I couldn't start it. So it got set aside until I had time to read the manual. Very cool helicopter, nice dynamics, quite a bit more challenging to fly than default helis in my opinion.

It's a pretty big helicopter but, it's very fast

Nice pics! I was thinking about buying it myself. Unfortunately, I ran out of money to spend on new Aircraft. :)

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

[color=#000000]They are not that hard to fly Mike. Now landing, is a horse of another color entirely.

I'm partial to the 4th shot. Looking out the window at the groundcrew.

Thanks guys :)
The only thing that would make the CH-53 cooler, is if it was water landable like the UH-47. It looks like you could almost do it with those big external tanks :D
