$5 F-14

Postby patchz » Wed Dec 08, 2010 5:15 pm

[color=#000000]Now I know why Iris is selling their FSX native F-14 for $5.00. (today only, but there will be another product every day until Christmas and everything is reduced 50%)
They intend to charge a substantial fee for ground school. ::)
It took me an hour, referring to the manual several times, to get the HUD to work and the gear to retract.

Looks good Larry... :)

It would seem you folks are getting some real bargains prior to Christmas.
Wish there was a store that handled Flight Simulator add ons around here.
Even Best Buy and Future Shop does not carry that stuff here.... :P

Welcome to the club, got everything up and running pretty quickly... except the number 2 engine..... took bloody ages to realise that the starter switch has to be pushed left to get it to go right.

Thanks Doug. :)

I'll go you one better, we don't even have a Best Buy and I've never heard of Future Shop. The closest thing here is Wally World. I get all my stuff online and so far have downloaded them all to avoid the wait on snail mail.

I have all of them backed up on a second drive, but I need to put them on disk, just in case.

With aircraft this complex, there is a lot to be said for not using cold and dark starts. ::)

I download mine as well, then save it on two seperate hard drives.  Fry's Electronics has a good selection of payware birds too though, that's where I got my Connie.  Best Buy around here doesn't even have FSX available these days, and I live in Silicon Valley  ::)
Alienware X51_R2 (thank you wife) Windows 8.1, 6GB Ram, Intel Core i3-4150 CPU @3.50GHz
FSX Acceleration settings on max, no twitches or glitches.

Goodly morning all... :)

Maybe this should be a separate thread (post) Larry but here goes.

Future Shop, Best Buy, WallMart and several other electronic store are less than a thirty minute drive from one of the largest airbases in Canada with at least three bug smasher fields within a hours drive to the stores.

Yet they do not carry Flight or Train Simulation items.

It don't figure after several of us have spoken to them, and they do not like you going direct to the store manager.
We always seem to speak only to a department person who will pass on the information.
It would seem the store manager is not in, in a meeting or unavailable every time we go in.

We have had this conversation many times around the Bull Shit Table at the Bugsmasher Fields and that is the consensus.

The military air base did have a flight simulator club being part of the computer club several years ago but they move folks about so much now that I am not sure the computer club is still going.

I don't bank on line so never use the computer for anything other than flight simulation or chatting on MSN to the children all over the country.

Will just have to wait until I can get to a city like Toronto to purchase Payware I guess... ::)
