Or was it sunrise?  I can't remember...anyways, the sky was pretty so I took some shots.

I've been plugging away on the 580  :)

Stretch the nose.. enlarge the tail.. lengthen the fuselage..  slap on a pair of Allison turbines with those BIG paddle props..  make further modifcations to the VC..  scratch-build custom gauges for those ornery, old Allsions..

And of course an old, North Central livery..  Are you old enough to remeber these hopping around the U.P. ?

Can't wait to see the finished product Brett!  Unfortunately I wasn't exposed to airport life until around 1988 when we moved next to Delta County airport, so I missed out on ever seeing North Central fly.  American Eagle, Northwest, and I believe Midwest Express were the norm there, along with John Thorne's birds of course.

I lived right near where Lakeshore Drive, 7th Ave So, and Bay St ,  meet...  Back in the late 1960s, there was enough business that even a North Central DC9 made scheduled visits. If they were using runway 27, it would fly righ over us, on its way to Marquette. But mostly, it was the CV580... ahhhhh  memories  :)

As soon as I finish my RTW flight (I'm actually on my last leg), i'll be doing some hops in this new aircraft! 8-)

Be sure to cancel any other flights you had planned, she's addicting to fly
