Bushmaster

A bushmaster was the logo of the 78th FS/15th FG.
They had their training in P-47's on Hawaii, before converting to P-51's and moving to Saipan and later Iwo Jima.
This is the aircraft of their CO, Maj. James van de Hey, while flying on Hawaii:
