Who said tube flights were uneventful?

Postby FlyingPerson » Tue Jul 07, 2009 12:10 pm

I guess they were wrong. At least this flight was VERY eventful!

British Airways BAe 146-300 EGLC (London City Airport) - LOWI (Innsbruck)

G-BZAT parked, awaiting its passengers.

What are you waiting for, you stupid CityJet Avro?

Image

80 Knots.. V1.. Rotate. I love this angle for takeoff shots!

Mean clouds down there.

On approach into Innsbruck. This was before it got really bad.

Dealing with one hell of a crosswind, as you may imagine. I wasn't actually able to fix this problem, so I had to land sideways and use a LOT of rudder to get it on the runway (I had to land on the grass ::))

Image

Ruddering hard.

After a rudder-heavy taxi, the Avro can finally breathe out as it is awkwardly parked at the gate.

Hope you enjoyed this short trip.

Thanks Shane.. I can tell you the four Honeywell turbofans were roaring loud :P

The 340 is one of your favorite commercial jets, right? Then I have a little treat coming up for you soon =)

Nice shots but consider a stabilized approach - much more survivable.

Love the third shot! Definitely would not want to be a passenger on that flight.
