The Top of the World

Postby BigTruck » Tue Apr 21, 2009 1:26 am

Taking off from Lukla...took a group of Norwegian scientists as high as I could, puttered out around FL150 and had to drop them off on a glacier...

Got the skis strapped on

Full throttle, ready to roll

Got to bank into that valley to build some steam to climb into the glacier valley
Image

Made it!  Get off my aircraft!!!  I have a schedule to meet!
Image

Spooling back up, take off isn't going to be easy at this altitude...
Image

Yeah take off didn't happen, let's just hang out here and wait for search and rescue...*engine sputters out*

Whats one of the most important rules of flying?  Never land anywhere from which you can't take off!

SAR never showed up so we just took the skis off the wheels and rode them down, the plane was written off

Cool experiment! I tried that once with the same results.
We might need to consider a chopper next time ::)

Your skies are awesome too! Not as dramatic as Bob's but definitely up there with him. Shame we don't have such a thing in FS9 ... well, officially that is :-?
