At 30.000ft over Italy...

..you can actually see across the country, as I discovered during a recent flight from Ancona to Bastia. I wanted to see how high the P-47 would go, so I donned my oxygen mask, opened up the turbo supercharger and off I went. In the end, I levelled off at 35.000 ft.

at altitude, near Gubbio. You can see the Adriatic on the left, and the Tyrrhenian sea on the right. Italy isn't that wide!

I start my descent over Elba, slowly, to avoid shock cooling off the cylinder heads.

..but we live to fly another day!
