First try in a PMDG MD-11...

Postby Barbr » Sat Apr 18, 2009 1:03 am

Took 2 photos from my first try on a friend's computer and his MD-11 during a landing at KSLC... I couldn't figure out how to use that flight computer even though BigTruck claims "it's easy"  ;D

Loved the cockpit, though!

;)  You need to read a quick tutorial Barb  ;D  I read mine at Captain Sim learning to fly their 757.  I wish I had the link, it makes it really easy, I haven't flown a tube with an FMC in a long time so I forgot the details...low and slow is the way to go  8-)

The nice part of the 757 FMC is that if you load a flight plan using FSX, there is an option as far as navigation goes to load that flight plan into the FMC, the rest is just defaults...so yes it is easy

Cool shots, I would probably get the Sky Simulations MD-11 instead myself though - less complex but WAY cheaper.

I love PMDG's cockpit night lighting  8-) 8-)

On the FMC front, I have the 737-800/900 from them and included is a nice hefty instruction manual for the FMC. Once you've learnt the procedures from the easy to follow tutorial it's not that hard to program. The hardest part I find is remembering where all the switches on the overhead are when starting her up :P
