"Low and Slow" from Auckland to Perth

I tried to use some propeller plane but 1) I couldn't get the engine to start even after I pressed control-E... it spun up but then shut back down again  :P and 2) I thought the 747 was slower than the 777, but I was glad to find out it could go even faster to hurry up with that 2500mi flight!  ;D

...I can barely sit still for half an hour in one of my baby, low and slow, VFR, GA Piston Props, before I get the overwhelming urge to go into my kitchen and cook something nice to eat... ...!

Try frying Bacon and Eggs at 800 feet AGL, and tip-toeing along at 80 Knots IAS...into a 10 Knot blustery headwind... ...

...difficult......!

To all: Thanks for looking, hee hee I was just responding to BigTruck's message on another thread to try something other than the 777. I sense that I'm among real sim-pilots here, and ashamedly I tend to just kick on the autopilot at 35,000 feet and make minor adjustments as necessary. I'll even admit to the fact that I use time acceleration... hope I won't get booted off the island for being honest  :D

I don't know why the Cessna engine won't work for me, but I'm quite clueless as to all the switches you guys are talking about.

Barb, here is a site with many checklists for planes found in FS. if you ever want to fly the real low-and-slow, you can follow the checklist to get it running

I appreciate your effort Barbr...  Ok here's a few suggestions, did you try holding Ctrl-E for a few seconds?  Sometimes you have to do that to let the autostart run through the switches and all that.  Second of all, make sure you have some good scenery installed before you go "low and slow" it will make the ride so much more enjoyable.

Keep at it, your "high and auto" shots are terrific!!

I'm like you Barb, I can't do any "Low and slow" flying either.. I like getting fast to my destination.. I've never really had an interest in looking at scenery. I love mountains and cities in real life, but in the sim, it's just not the same.. no matter how much "ultra-great"-scenery you installed. In real, there are no frame rates. (Thank god.. wouldn't have been able to stand 6-8 FPS in RL ) That's why I enjoy flying the heavy jets at high altitude and speed, at least for myself.

Oh, and i'm hungry.
