316th FS

Postby jankees » Fri Jan 16, 2009 1:56 am

mmm, my 'B-24 around Jandakot' series disappeared of the first page with only 24 views. Are there really so few of us here? Or was it that bad?
Never mind, I'll just keep pestering you with my repaints.
Here's two Jugs of the 316th FS/ 324th FG. The razorback made a wheels up landing after an engine fire, while the bubbletop was shot downby a Me109. The pilot, Lt J. Yowell, bailed out, but his parachute never opened unfortunately.

Your history lesson adds a lot to this screenshot, thanks for sharing that!  I still find it hard to believe that a Jug could be shot down though, they were the tanks of the sky!

These are the WoP bubbletop and the WWII fighters razorback, both by A2A.
I couldn't resist adding a third (and received a request for yet another, so expect one more):

Very nice work as always! 8-)

It's not that there's so few of us here, actually it's the opposite ;D, With so many screenartists here, threads can be posted at breakfast and three pages back by dinner. ;D

Goes to show how popular our Graphic Gallery really is. ;)

You said it. I try to keep on top of all the postings, and make a comment or two on the ones that I like but sometimes  one will slip through the crack. Nice set Jankees. Keep up the good work.

To continue with the 316th FS:
the original pilot of #86 "Black Sheep", Jerry Wurmser, asked if I could paint his aircraft too, so this completes a quartet of 316th FS repaints.
I hope you like the repaints, but I also hope you like the shots of the whole formation. In the judges competition recently, I asked for WWII formations (and got them, thanks guys!), so I thought I'd better show you I can do it too.
All comments will of course be appreciated.
