Himalaying...

Postby krigl » Mon Sep 15, 2008 3:48 pm

I've been getting a bit more serious with flight-simming recently, starting from the beginning, and trying to get a feel for the different abilities of different planes as a prelude to trying to fly them properly.

To get an idea of climbing and higher altitude performance, I've been taking light aircraft on a 'hillclimb' from Lamidada to Lukla in the Himalayas.... unfortunately without Aerosoft's Lukla, just default.

Here are some rather plain shots which might be of interest to some as they show the Himalayas in FS9 and FSX.

I took the Carenado C182RG up in FS9 with Ground Environment Pro and found that it performed pretty well even at Lukla, though landing runs were horribly long at both locations. Graphics quite bad in FS9 now,
