If it wouldn't be for that police chopper then I would call these shots 'dreamy'. Very nice panoramic shots Dave. I really like the subtle cirrus in the first and last.

Never can get used to the way the sim stretches textures over elevation. If there's one thing that should be thought about for FS11 that would be one of my points.

BTW: have you been taking Joe's advice on trees? ::)

What would that be?

Very much agree. Would be nice if somebody could create a mod or fix for that.  ::)

layers...strata...thats what was bugging me...thats whats missing...couldn't figure it out till now  :)

It requires the entire canyon be modeled custom to do it right... and all custom textures for that area too

Even if Aces designed a method to deal with elevations better. ... the canyon would still require custom model design because of the layer result one expects to see



I presume the faces are applied planar on the world Z axis in the current engine? Wouldnt it be possible to calculate the average angle on a line of vertexes, and apply the texure planar to that with blended edges? Im not familair with the FSX/9 engine so i wouldnt know how to do it.
