First try with FS Recorder..........

Postby todayshorse » Sun Apr 06, 2008 1:33 pm

C+C much welcomed!!! But go easy, just trying out this fs recorder thing for the first time (id not heard of it before - always used fraps and other stuff)

So this isnt simply traffic in the usual sense, but i think im using it correct - place an aircraft, record it, save it, do the same with another and so on and combine the files to make one file.....god knows how you do this in flight!!!

Its a nice little shot though i think!

Jet provosts (freeware from simv) at cranwell (also freeware from simv) sky must be active sky although it wasnt running when i took the shot but to be safe ive plopped it in payware!

Looks good! If you use the same plane maybe place them so you can't see the numbers are the same.

In flight, some people actually record a flight and fly in formation with them. However, a far easier way to get a 'formation' pic is to record the planes....PAUSED IN SLEW MODE  :)

PAUSED IN SLEW MODE

lol ... that indeed is the way. That is the way I did the Farewell John shot ;)

Very nice and well thought off sceenshot. On the criticism side: why did you tilt the image? I think that if there isn't an aircraft in the shot that is banked using a tilted images is, well ... rather pointless.

Though I know I did a couple of them before too ;D

tilt the image? Interesting. Mainly to 'hide' the numbers of the first aircraft as they are the same as the aircraft at the end of the row!

As pointed out earlier, im aware that replicating aircraft in a shot like this means usually they have the same numbers - which ive noticed on a lot of shots on here - and its not realistic! But with not many aircraft of the same type with different markings from the same fileset, its a tricky task!

Rather than go for some obscure flat viewing angle to hide this fact, the easiest solution was to 'tilt' the viewpoint. Plus it adds perspective.

LOL ;D

Ive just had 5 tornados (iris freeware ones) lined up all set for a shot, and my computer 'froze' :( took me 20 minutes to record and set them all up and ive spent 15-20 minutes getting the angle, time and weather right >:( :(

All different numbers though ;D but with another good 'angle' for you to get your teeth into :D

Maybe later :)
