Generally I really like your skies and the tutorial is very good but in this series I think it is a little over the top.
But if that was your intention you sure did a good job ...

The orange and purple go really well together and add a very good 'sci-fi' feel but it also does not look very realistic ... hence the 'sci-fi' ;)

Numbe three is a very good tribute to Tom 8-)

Wow, mad skies!!! I've never got such bright purple/orange out of the sim before... :o

Wasn't really meant to be a tutorial. Just more of an explaination. I am not good enough to write tutorials. I hope I put it in the right place.
