recent repaints

Postby jankees » Sun Oct 21, 2007 3:58 pm

For those of you that like the old and small stuff, here's a few pics of my recent repaints:
Image
This was a request by Dudley Henriques, for more information on this aircraft look here: http://www.simflight.com/modules.php?na ... e&sid=9797

Image
This was done after I found a photograph of the real thing, I thought it looked real sleek, a Texan in tuxedo..

Image
This was done after John Terrell uploaded two repaints of 44-72364, I thought it would be nice to show another stage in the life of this aircraft, as 26061 in the Swedish Air Force, where she flew with F4 wing between '47 and '52, before being sold to the Dominican Republic (but that's another paintjob...)

I just love the pianokey style noseart of the 20th FG, I've done several in the past (see my sig), and now that there is a new paintkit around, I couldn't resist doing another. I'll probably do more, if anybody has a favorite they want done, please tell me.

Image
This last one is based on the restoration to airworthiness of an aircraft that was shot down during the war over France. The project was recently unveiled for the first time and I thought, why not show her how she looked, and with luck, will look again.

I hope you like them, if you want to try them for yourself, you can find them on Avsim or sim-outhouse

I love that first one JK! :o 8-)

Very, very cool repaint for the Mustang and a touching story on 5412 Victor too ...

I'm glad you like'em, here's a few more

Image
H-315 as it looked in 1948, just after the application of the new registrations and roundels, when flying with the Photo Verkennings Afdeling in Medan, as part of the Royal Dutch East Indies Air Force

Image
LC-N 'June Nite' of Capt. Ernest Fiebelkorn, the highest scoring ace of the 20th FG (9.5 aerial victories)

But what's coming out of the clouds in pic #1 (lower right corner)????

I believe it is what is commonly referred to as a 'ship'

I do apologize for the ridiculous flood of Mustangs, but I had a few paintjobs finally coming together and thought I'd share them with you..
