Shay Hallo to my liddle friend

Postby glennlcasey » Mon Oct 15, 2007 9:15 am

B-17 Pilot: " You wanna play rough with me? you wanna play rough with my B-17? Ok Say hello to my little friend"

A wounded B-17 limping home after a daylight raid, is escorted by a P-51 on the lookout for the jerry fighters. Nice and simple, any comments critiscism and the sort will be dealt with as usual lol.

Nice colorful Stang and the angle you've chosen together with the B-17 is very good.
Your clouds could be more defined though ... more depth and perspective.

Nice pic, but the story could be better, or the same story, with different paintjobs.
We have B-17G "Sally B" in "Memphis Belle" movie costume, (both ETO, based in the UK)  being escorted by the Flying Undertaker, a P-51D flown by Maj Shomo from the Phillipines. Chances of them meeting during the war were not very high (unless one of them took a seriously wrong turn somewhere), and post war, well...maybe. Sally B is based in the UK and was flying like this during and after the filming of "Memphis Belle" in 1990. She recently received a new coat. As for the P-51,  45-11381 flew as the flying undertaker between '74 and 1990 in the US, and at present 45-11526 is flying in more or less the same scheme (since 1999), but in Australia. They're still hard to bring together...
Sorry to be such a pain, but I've painted so many of these things, that I notice details like that.
I do like the picture though, I like the hazy countryside just visible in the back.
