If you guys like Alaska so much...

Postby Nick N » Thu Aug 02, 2007 3:35 am

You should try it on FSX and running full DX10 with the 0.10m mesh and 7cm textures

Nice edits Nick! I was wondering when you would show us some of the photo's you've made there, but you didn't have to stick that FS Beaver in there ;D

But seriously mate ... absolute stunning shots! The way you can still see parts of the submerged floats are especially nice ;)

And look at you post count!! You've been busy these last few days haven't you? ;D ;D

and for the record and so no one gets the wrong impression, the first shots are a joke.

You wont be seeing that type of detail in MSFS for another year or 2 but it is coming

That must've been quite an impressive moment Nick!

Never seen whales but I did see dolphins near the coast of Tenerife. Not as big but definitely as impressive.
When they swim around you just just want to cry out of happiness ...

Shots like I *coUGh* snagged are not that far away guys. It will take time for it to cover the earth but its already in the works

"The Gathering Place", in Hawaii. Oahu will have an unbelievable 30 cm/1 foot per pixel ground imagery. Furthermore, the team from Beachcomber Entertainment anticipates deriving the mesh from a 10 m DEM elevation model with an accuracy of 10 cm vertically. They are also concurrently working on coverage for the State of West Virginia at 60 cm per pixel and with incredible 2 m elevation data. Simply amazing.

That is not "photo' scenery, that is real time render mesh and textures with full depth

Yea, the water need work... too cold for one thing, it kept splashing off the screen on me

They did a good job on the whales, but you have to set the AI traffic to 100%

AI traffic at 100% uses a whale of a lot of polygons.   ;)
