Something doesn't look quite right. Look at the squadron code on the starboard side.

Nice, but the AH spits not as good as the RealAir one.  ;)

610 Sqn Spitfires of 1940 never do look quite right - mainly due to their oversized letters. The other problem is that no-one ever seems to have bothered taking many pictures of the starbord sides of the aircraft! The only on I can find would make this AH scheme wrong. Taking the letters on the port side, in this case DW - E, we'd normally expect E - DW on the starbord. Of course, we see AH have chosen the write it as D - WE...

...The only evidence I found was of an earlier (solid fuselage roundel with no white or yellow segment), DW - F being the codes, read from left to right on both sides of the fuselage... :)

Strange thing that. I've noticed the same thing.

I think you're missing my point. RAF Squadron markings during WWII seem to vary a great deal. However, the two digit squadron code was generally painted on one side of the roundel with the aircraft ident letter (E in this case) on the other. The squadron code for 610 Squadron was DW (not WE). It would be written either DW - E or E - DW on the starboard side depending on the squadron. From the photos on this page it would seem to be DW - E on both sides of the fuselage. http://www.spitfireperformance.com/spit1vrs109e.html

That was exactly my point Doug! ;D I obviously didn't communicate it very well at 0238!

Of course, we see AH have chosen the write* it as D - WE...

*wrongly ie, it should have been DW - E or E - DW. :)

Then we agree, as usual. :D

It's only a small gripe but if this is payware I'm surprised that AH didn't do their research.

That was the only other right hand side "shot" shot I'd seen too. I did email Just Flight at the time to question a couple of the schemes - particularly those readily available in the UK for someone to get photos to pass to AH...

What did they say?

*Stunned Silence*

I think that was what they said. Several people were actually trying to give quite contructive criticism of the numerous errors in the original package (Mk 22 tail; the Mk XIX having a 5 blade prop, but the animation for the moving prop only having 4; etc), yet I seem to remember they (and more particularly the loyal members of their forum) didn't take it that well. Eventually it paid off, as the numerous updates and patches for each model appeared.

Could you post links to some of these patches - I have recently got the AH spitfire for a birthday present. Wasn't aware there were any problems with it (probably cos I didn't look that closely) but nonetheless...

If you got it new recently, then I expect it may be already updated. If not then the updates are available at:

JustFlight.com Spitfire update page

Also on that page you can downloads such as the Mk V floatplane. :)
