It's an old one from February 2005 when I did the Just Flight Spitfire review - I went back thorugh the forum to find it.

An appropriate tribute I think.

I don't think Alex ever flew K5054....

You are indeed factually correct. However it is arguably apart from the "2" on the side the most pure and unadulterated example of a Spitfire. :)

K5054 is better than perfect then - no ugly additions, flush exhaust keeping the lines of the cowling smooth, no guns or gunsight, not even the radio mast behind the cockpit. Pure aerodynamicism... :)

What's more, the colour - enough to make even a battle hardened Messerschmitt lover go weak at the knees and start dribbling...
