Hi All,
This weekend Micheal Greenblatt went under the hood of my sim and 'fixed a few things'.
Here's the result ...
For those of you who wonder: apart from sight distance, every setting in the sim (FS9) is maxed out and I can run it at a steady 36 FPS
without stutters, hickups or shivers. And that is with 90% traffic, real world weather generated by Active Sky and Flight Environment 3D Clouds.
And I don't think I have a killer machine; I have a three year old Dell Dimension 8300 that runs a P4 3.2 Ghz. HT with 2 GB of 400 Mhz. RAM,
paired 1 GB sticks. My video card is a Gainward Bliss 7800 GS+ 512 in an AGP slot.
I think I already had nice graphics but now my performance is way beyond anything I thought possible and my graphics are even better!
So ... yes, seeing is believing and I believe FS-GS is well worth the money. If you can afford it you should try it!
Thanks Michael, I'm looking forward to future conversations
