Skyraiders!

Postby Stormtropper » Wed Jan 10, 2007 10:00 pm

Gotta luv 'em...especially when they're free...! ;D

Got a essay to write tonight, so these had to be quick...

Take off, no thrilling catapult action, but still came off the deck nicely...

Lookin' good...! 8)

...Lookin' mean!

All lined up!

And a few from FSX...(the ones above were FS9)...just showing off the graphics...

Over all...?
Pros:
Built for 4 sims!...FSX, FS9, CFS2, WoV
Lots of very nice looking models...from the A-1 to the Dauntless II
Textures that feature 8 different air forces...!
Great looking VC (especially the FSX version, with the reflections on the guages...!)
What I believe to be accurate flight dynamics (...got no idea how it should fly in real life, but compared it against the AvHistory's 1% Skyraider for CFS3...those guys are rarely wrong... ;))

Cons:
Not alot of clickable switches on the panel/VC, and a quite a few 2D switches in the VC...
Airshow smoke in FSX isn't  aligned with the plane correctly...can make a few intreasting screenshots if used correctly, but just annoying

Overall...totally recommended! It's not a "indepth simulation" but it is lots of fun, hopefully I'll find some time soon to really get to know this thing and take a few good shots. the airplane is amazing looking and very easy to fly...

...don't let the small 90 mb download size fool you, the plane installs into more than 800 mb and (I'm guessing) more than 30 different liveries and 60 variations! :o

Jeff ;D

P.S. Ignore the spelling mistakes, I'm in a hurry...so add/subtract/rephrase letters, words, sentences, paragraphs until the whole thing forms a coherent statement/thought. And yeah, I made that trap, not center line, but not bad for a first attempt in a plane you don't know anythign about... ;)

Now those look nice mate!

That's the Razbam Skyraiders Vol. 2 I suppose? Ron sent them to me today for making the official catalogue screenies and product artworks to be used for the new Razbam website. I haven't had a chance to look into the package yet (i got only the fs9 ones as i don'T own the other games) but judging by these shots I can say Im looking forward to tormorrow :)

When I see you land your Skyraider on that carrier I can't help but think "Go back to your own time period you bum!" Do you mean to tell me that the Skyraider operated alongside A-6s, S-3s and F-14s? Nevertheless, great shots!  ;)
