Seneca II Trouble!

Postby Jared » Mon Jan 01, 2007 8:44 pm

I was flying around with an instructor getting ready to be checked out in the ole bird when the dickweed decided we needed to practice engine out procedures....no bid deal right? That is until he found out that he totally killed the engine somehow so now it was a true emergency!

Luckily the akron muni airport was just off to the east a bit and we were able to enter a left crosswind to the main runway to land

Cool..... in a twin like the Seneca is it not possible to go on flying with one engine? Obviously you'd like to get down in case the other one goes, but.... just wondering... :)

The seneca II was pretty good at holding it's altitude thankfully and I was able to make it through the pattern and onto the runway safely...quite a bit of crab angle going on but it worked :)
