Excellent shots Mees, I really like the perspective on the 4th, the 3rd shot is a cool angle aswell. This link is a very good example of why we have a 100k limit at the V, I damn near managed to cook my dinner whilst waiting for the images to load  ;D - although don't take that as criticism for the link, the shots look amazing.

I get so tired of the 'compression killed my shots' crap.  Its such a lie!  Ive seen too many people post shots under the limit of such great quality that it seems like theres no compression.  Not to brag, but most of MY shots that are under 100KB are compressed and dont look bad.

Its so annoying to see all sorts of people say 'compression killed my shot'.  There are two reasons why:  alot of the time the shots look FINE if not GREAT, and so its almost pompous to say that compression killed them because they look good, not to mention the fact that alot of the people who say it just take horrible screenshots and no matter what kind of combression is there it doesnt matter (no offense)

I personally dont mind clicking a link to see some shots, but I want to see a few in the thread with the link so that I know what Im being linked too.  If I want to see shots on another forum Ill go to the other forum like I already do!

Mees your shots are great, so why not instead of overload the sections, use thumbnails, that way all your shots can be in the one thread.  Use enos tutorial here

This is not school!!
It is a website that is a business and is in the business of appealing to everybody!
The reason SimV has the rep it does and why we constantly hear, "This is one of the nicest flight sim site I have been too", is because we try to keep certain guidelines in place. these guidelines have worked for quite some time and we intend to keep it that way.

Mees, I'd hate to see you get banned from the site by letting your frustration get the better of you.... and I wish I could see your shots! Why don't you follow the rules, post 5x100 kb shots and put a link at the end of your post to your full size pics so people can see them in all their glory if they fancy it. Or put a link to your latest 'outside site' shots in your sig. Surely THAT would be okay - lots of people have links to other sites/pet projects in their posts and sigs. I loved the last set, they were awesome, and I'd reallly like to see the new ones.

This is a big site, bandwidth costs money, and once one person bends the rules then others start - I can agree with most of the rules here, though sometimes it does seem that the rules are more important than the art and the people who make it. But that's the downside and there's plenty of upside to go with SimV.... Small sites like that one you post on can afford to be personal and more liberal. If I were you I'd keep posting there, but come and see us 'international friends' too.... but playing by the rules - get the best of both worlds, right

And mees, yes, some ARE hit badly by compression, but I'm not going to complain about it and blame compression.  Not all of them are hurt by it, and the ones that are usually arent TOO bad, and if they are, so what?  Who really cares?!  Screenart isn't just about getting the best quality.  Its art.  Its angles, lighting, contrast, action!  You can take the worst quality screenshot in the history of screenshots, but as long as it has the proper elements its still good!

And how hard is it to post some here and then a link to the rest in high quality?  That way those of us who come here to see screenshots can see them and if we want to see better quality we just click a link.  Simple, huh?  I hate to say it, but KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid.  Don't make it hard on everyone else because you don't like the rules.
