Water World?

Postby Fly2e » Wed Nov 15, 2006 10:13 pm

Well if you have been following my Alaska Exposed thread, you would know that I am having an issue with finding a water texture that I like. I really like the effect the Real Environment Pro creates but it also creates some reflective lines that I really can't stand. I combined two separate addons to come up with what you see below. I seem to like it allot. Feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!

It looks better...

I dont know why you get those lines, I use FE and my water is fine...

Note to self = READ POST!

That was my problem with REP water too.  What was even stranger was sometimes my water was pretty blue and then it would suddenly be dark and all streaky.  Now I just use the FE water and it does its job, looks very realistic IMO

Thats not bad Dave,... it has the same qualities as REP but without the annoying overtones of cloud reflection.

My only questions would be how does it look from altitude, how does it look with the 2 major weather patterns.. ie; clear skies, building storms and how does it look at sunrise, sunset with the same weather mentioned

Have not tried that yet Nick. Only got this together late last night and that was the only place I flew.
Will check it out later today!

Thanks,

Dave, that water looks amazing.

How did you get it to look so good?

Yes Alex, open up the REPro Configurator. Click install default textures.
I will reinstall whatever you had before you installed.

I am noticing something I don't like. At higher elevations the water still looks the same.  >:(
It is too bright and does not seam dark enough.
I am still going to play and also have another little file I recently received.  ;)

I nicked the water textures and wave effects from the FSX demo! ;D

I quite like the results, as can be seen here.
