Legacy delivery flight pt1

Nexus journal, june 2006.

"So me and my copilot are in St Johns, Canada, our last stop in America before crossing the pond for Europe. The boss wanted us to take this route (S.America - N. America - Iceland - Europe) for various PR jippo's in the states before we turn over the aircraft to its owner. Normally we would fly from Brazil to Africa and then head for Europe.

It's early in the morning and the aircraft is the right place to be. It's warm, comfortable and I get paid to be here. Just finished feeding the route into the FMS. Due to some mishap in the planning we have to fly along the canadian east coast before heading to Greenland and then Iceland. We're flying into one of the worlds most busy airspace, I dont think they'll appreciate if we take a short cut."

"We took off from runway 29 at St Johns, and in this time of day there were no traffic at all. That will change in a few hours when we have to criss cross some of the NATs. Our flightplan today doesnt call for a NAT since we are flying to Iceland, we'll see what happens"

"Accelerating the Aircraft to climb speed, you can surely feel that the aircraft is heavy loaded with fuel, we boarded more fuel than necessary because there is a violent low pressure system approacing Iceland which might require holding time by the time we arrive."

"I've seen the sunrise from the cockpit windows hundreds of times, but I know I will never get tired of it. We have a little bit of turbulence but nothing to write home about. The Legacy performs flawlessly despite.

"Gizmos and gadgets...the Legacy offers a few. The HUD is only practical when flying CAT II approaches, and there is no need for it when the AP is in command, but it's a cool toy to have"
