A little Gatwick vignette..

Postby RollerBall » Mon Jun 19, 2006 6:54 pm

Just a few shots from a tiny corner of Mr Summons' new Gatwick Pro. It's payware but there is a free demo from which these pics were taken.

I thought the Italian scenery was good but this is the most relaistic scenery I've ever seen. Gates move to accomodate the aircarft and it's full of moving ground vehicles. All of the ones you see in the pics drive up to service the aircraft plus there are catering trucks, vans, pushback mules, fuel trucks and loads of other stuff driving in all parts of the airport. The overhead train runs between the North and South terminals and the Gatwick Express arrives from London and pulls up at the terminal before continuing on its way. The roads around Gatwick are also full of moving vehicles - it's amazing to taxi out to the holding point and see moving vehicles in the distance. It's also fun to drive round among the vehicles and fly a helo through the tunnel among em.

I have lots of AI and I'm totally gobsmacked. The demo has a large cube in the middle of runway 8R but even if you don't want/can't get the full version get the demo and fly around it in a helo just to see what scenery can do.

It's absolutely incredible. Here's the link to Garry's web site

It might be a demo ........ but it is advertising a PAYWARE producct and therefore belongs down here in the paywear screenies.

The mods will now tie you to the back of the Mod shack door and use you as a target for marmalade throwing Rodger. ;D ;D ;D

I've had the payware version of this scenery for a couple of  months, and I absolutely agree with Roger - it's by far and away the best scenery add-on I have, from anywhere. Apart from all the moving vehicles and detailed gates etc., if you look in the windows of the new overhead connection to the new North Terminal extension, you'll see people inside it, moving on the escalators! Now that's what I call attention to detail. I don't know what technique Gary Summons uses but the frame rates are better on my rig than for the default Heathrow.

And yes, you can get an A380 underneath the bridge!

One tiny, weeny little niggle - Gary hasn't put the Handley Page Herald airframe (or the Comet 4B nose section) on the observation deck of the South Terrminal! Oh well, you can't have it all. Everything else is there, and it's stunning.

Here's the brand-new Posky 737-600 at the North Terminal extension. Note the people inside the terminal - they all move in the scenery!

:D

Yeah, amazing isn't it Martyn - and the stop panels work and ... and ... and ...

there's just soooooo much in it to see. Ruddy masterpiece by Garry Summons.

At the moment I've got a couple of 'spare' (until I sell them) 15" TFTs. I really will have to see if I can set em up with my usual 19" monitor and try and get multi-cockpit views going. Would be very impressive I reckon with this scenery
