Same thing in real life, they retired that plane last year already.

Yah, rarely will you see a F-117 flying over NYC like that, but it's cool, Great that they retired that aircraft hope to see it in a museum some day.

Interesting article, thanks.... they had to collect money to paint her up like that? I'd have thought the Air Force would be up for a nice display of patriotism and PR?

Very nice . Understandably tough to do the plane justice in a night shot ! Used to go to school at Stockton College in Pomona NJ. I did part of Americorp service time at the ACUA (Atlantic County Utilities Authority) right next to the Atlantic City Airport home of the 177th F-16 fighter wing. I often wondered if they would have had some birds in the right location on Sept. 11 :-/? I'm keeping the the politics out of this, because of the polarity of opinions in this matter ! I'm keeping my views to myself ! - although

Yeah as we know the attacks took place in D.C. and NYC,  I live in Westchester County which is 45 mins from the city.

During the days after 9/11 which at that time the US airspace was on a lockdown with only military flights allowed, I had my computer room window open to keep the room cool and it was at night time.  
I sat down and after a few mins I hear the roar of a fighter jet over and over like every 2-5 mins like there's 2 or 3 of them going around the city patrolling it.
24 hrs a day for at least a week and at low to mid altitudes.

I went outside to take a look at the sky and I saw a small jet bank and accelerate fast with long flames behind it (not yellow flames, more of white and blue) and it was indeed a fighter jet going fast turning at the same time.
