Great scenery, cool pics... something about the pattern on the bottom of the plane looks familiar....like I've seen it before...

Same thing in real life, they retired that plane last year already.

Interesting article, thanks.... they had to collect money to paint her up like that? I'd have thought the Air Force would be up for a nice display of patriotism and PR?

Very nice 8). Understandably tough to do the plane justice in a night shot :)! Used to go to school at Stockton College in Pomona NJ. I did part of Americorp service time at the ACUA (Atlantic County Utilities Authority) right next to the Atlantic City Airport home of the 177th F-16 fighter wing. I often wondered if they would have had some birds in the right location on Sept. 11 :-/? I'm keeping the the politics out of this, because of the polarity of opinions in this matter :P! I'm keeping my views :-X to myself ;)! - although ::)

Yeah as we know the attacks took place in D.C. and NYC,  I live in Westchester County which is 45 mins from the city.

During the days after 9/11 which at that time the US airspace was on a lockdown with only military flights allowed, I had my computer room window open to keep the room cool and it was at night time.
I sat down and after a few mins I hear the roar of a fighter jet over and over like every 2-5 mins like there's 2 or 3 of them going around the city patrolling it.
24 hrs a day for at least a week and at low to mid altitudes.

I went outside to take a look at the sky and I saw a small jet bank and accelerate fast with long flames behind it (not yellow flames, more of white and blue) and it was indeed a fighter jet going fast turning at the same time.
